Have you used social media as an exhibitor or attendee at a past Transact show? We were interested in Twitter’s adoption rate in the payment industry so we pulled a custom report on the hashtag “Transact” via Tweet Binder and organized Twitter’s historical data from 2013 through 2018 into the infographic below.
Are you exhibiting at or attending Transact18? If you want people to read your tweets, make it easy for people to find them by using the trade show’s official hashtag (#Transact18), as well as the twitter handles of people and companies you would like to interact with at the show. Interact with other tweeters, too. Reply to, Retweet and Favorite the tweets of others, and you will be engaging with fellow attendees in no time.
Attending a Transact show isn’t always feasible. Maybe the trade show doesn’t work with your schedule. Or maybe it’s not in the budget this year. Luckily, you can still benefit from a trade show, even when you can’t attend in-person by following the Transact18 hashtag on social media. Not quite as good as being there but definitely a viable ways to see what’s going on and make some connections.
One bit of advice … add value to the conversation. Traci Browne, author of “The Social Trade Show,” explained this quite well in an interview with Exhibitor magazine. Browne says, “Talk about others 80 percent of the time and about yourself just 20 percent of the time. That’s the key to social media.”
